- Bodywork is any therapeutic or personal development technique that involves working with the human body in a form involving manipulative therapy, breathwork, or energy medicine.
- Examples: craniosacral therapy, reflexology, shiatsu, massage, and of course integrative meridian therapy and somatic trauma release.
2) Is IMT the same as massage therapy?
- No. Massage therapy is a form of bodywork. The terms massage and bodywork are often used interchangeably. However, bodywork includes many other types of touch therapies, like integrative meridian therapy.
- Massage works with the muscular/structural system.
- Integrative meridian therapy engages not only the structural system, but the fascia, visceral, and the fluid systems of the body all at the same time.
3) What do I wear during my session?
- You will NOT need to undress for IMT or STR sessions. Wear something you can easily move around in, like gym attire. If you happen to be wearing layers of clothing and a huge belt buckle, then it might be beneficial to take off a layer and the belt.
